SG plating is a molten zinc alloy plating system consisting of 5% aluminum and 1% magnesium. While zinc-based alloys with approximately 5% aluminum have been commercialized in the steel sheet sector by blast furnace manufacturers, with JIS standards established, such plating is often technically challenging in the general molten zinc plating field, and this type of plating is rarely performed. Furthermore, there are no other facilities boasting a production capacity of 3,000 tons/month with an 8-meter large kettle for alloy plating. SG plating has a proven track record in harsh environments prone to corrosion from salt damage, such as coastal areas and heavy snowfall regions. Recently, in collaboration with Nippon Steel, we have successfully developed high corrosion-resistant steel pipes.
